Living room shuffle

This is what my long wall in the living room used to look like. You can't see it but there are cables running between the book shelves. Cables drive me crazy, but I can't find a way to hide them. Also I feel like it looks too busy. So I am trying something new.



This is the current incarnation of the wall. I can't decide if I like it. There are no more cables but it still seems pretty cluttered. What do you guys think??
